Weight-Loss Weight Loss in San Diego- Week 2 – The Journey Continues Disclaimer – before we start, I want to point out that I’m not a doctor, and I’ve never played one on tv. I am totally unqualified to give you any kind of medical advice. I’m just someone struggling with a weight issue, just like you. I put these together to help you benefit from the research I’ve been doing (and to keep myself accountable). Woo-Hoo! Down 4.2 Lbs- from 213 to 208.8. Yay! So I’ve gotten through the first week. That’s a good thing. I’ll be honest, the first 3 days were really really hard. Actually it’s still hard but I’m pushing on. I learned some things- I don’t like to cook, I need to chew and I am determined to lose weight! About the need to chew thing, I tried some of the "liquid" meal replacements, and they really didn’t do much for me. They didn’t feel like food to me. So, now I know I need to stick to the food style meal replacements. As for the cooking thing, well, there are only so many days that you can eat tuna and eggwhites, lol. So that’s something that I’m going to have to get over. In the beginning I think that I was afraid that if I added flavor to anything, then it would be off plan. But I can’t live without enjoying my food. I won’t succeed on this plan that way. Last night, my husband made me a stir-fry with chicken and green veggies, and it was delicious. That made me feel a lot better, that I could enjoy something and not feel guilty about it. I also discovered a few products that made my life easier. One of those is the Baba Foods 3-layer dip sold at Costco in San Diego. It has pesto, sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese. Super yummy!! It has about 80 calories to 2tbsp, so it’s a little off plan, but it has only 2 grams of carbs and 4 grams of protein. I figure that as long as I stay in the very low carb range, a little bit of extra calories won’t hurt me too badly. It may slow my weight loss a little bit, but I should keep losing weight. I know that my Take Shape for Life Coach would tell me that I shouldn’t have any extra calories, but I need some flavor. It really makes the Medifast eggs something to look forward to! And I’m very careful to keep it under the 2 tbsp serving. Another thing that is saving me are the flavored drops that you can put in your water. I really like the caffeinated ones, and they .e in lots of flavors. Anyway, that’s a snapshot of week 2 in my San Diego Weight Loss Journey. I’m starting to get a picture of what I might look like after this is done, and I’m getting really excited!! I know that there will be challenges, but so far I’m pretty proud of myself 🙂 Tune in again next week to see how it went.
